Bohin Milliners/Straw Needles
Bohin Milliners/Straw Needles
From Bohin: “15 ct. Exceptional polish for smooth glide through fabric. Fine point to minimize holes. Eye polished with a unique process to minimize breaking thread. Maximum strength, minimum bending. “
From Violet: “Sewing needles are sized in numbers that increase as the needle becomes thinner. Sewing needles DO NOT have consistent names between brands. One brand might call their needle a Milliner or a Straw needle and NOT be shaped like the Bohin needle I have chosen. If you test needles with your hand sewing you will feel the difference. This particular needle glides smoothly through my EPP projects and binding. I personally use a Bohin Milliner/Straw size 9 almost exclusively.
For me, the choice of this needle is based on three things: it is the thinnest needle I can easily thread without a tool for assistance, I have a too-firm grip and the size 9 doesn’t break for me, and I prefer the mid-length. I can not grip short needles easily.
Many people prefer the thinner size 10, which I also sell. I also prefer the size 10, however I break them very, very quickly and don’t mind the size 9 so that is the best needle for me. I hope that information is helpful!”
